Justin Johnson is an American computer scientist and associate professor of electrical engineering and computer science at the University of Michigan, currently on partial leave. He is a co-founder of World Labs, a spatial-intelligence company launched in 2024 with Fei-Fei Li that develops AI systems for understanding and generating 3D environments. He is best known for foundational computer-vision research including Visual Genome, DenseCap, perceptual losses for real-time style transfer, and Mesh R-CNN, as well as co-instructing Stanford's widely viewed CS231n course on convolutional neural networks.
