Marc Rowan is a co-founder, chief executive officer, and chair of the board of Apollo Global Management, one of the world's largest alternative asset management firms. He co-founded Apollo in 1990 alongside Leon Black and Josh Harris after beginning his career in the mergers and acquisitions department of Drexel Burnham Lambert. He is best known for architecting Apollo's private credit and insurance strategy, including the establishment and subsequent reacquisition of Athene Holding, which has become the largest provider of retirement insurance products in the United States.
