Nicolas Ballas

Nicolas Ballas is a research scientist at Meta FAIR (Fundamental AI Research) based in Montréal, Canada, where he works on self-supervised learning and video understanding. He is a core member of the V-JEPA team at Meta and has co-authored influential papers including V-JEPA 2 and DINOv2. Prior to joining Meta FAIR, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Mila and earned his PhD in applied mathematics and computer science from Mines Paris–PSL.
