Rui Shao is a professor at the School of Computer Science and Technology at the Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), where he leads the Orion Lab. His research focuses on multimodal large language models and embodied AI, with recent work on vision-language-action models for robotic manipulation including SemanticVLA, CogVLA, and a survey of VLA-based approaches.
