Carme Torras

Carme Torras Genís is a Research Professor at the Spanish Scientific Research Council (CSIC), based at the Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial (IRI), a joint CSIC-UPC center in Barcelona. She specializes in robotics and artificial intelligence, with research focusing on robot perception and manipulation, including assistive robotics for tasks such as dressing and cloth manipulation. She is an IEEE Fellow, EurAI Fellow, and recipient of the 2020 Spanish National Research Award in Mathematics and Information Technologies and an ERC Advanced Grant. She has supervised 24 PhD theses and coauthored over 11 scientific books and 174 journal papers across robotics, neurocomputing, and AI.
