Karandeep Anand

Karandeep Anand is a technology executive who serves as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at The Walt Disney Company, a position he assumed in October 2026. He previously served as CEO of Character.AI, a consumer AI chatbot company, and held senior product and engineering leadership roles at Brex, Meta, and Microsoft, where he spent 15 years working on the Azure platform. He is best known for leading Character.AI through a period of significant growth and for his appointment to Disney's newly created CTO role, which notably came approximately one year after Disney had sent Character.AI a cease-and-desist letter alleging copyright infringement of its characters.
