Alex Sobel

Alexander David Sobel is a British Labour and Co-operative politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Leeds Central and Headingley since 2024, and previously for Leeds North West from 2017 to 2024. He has been appointed the Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Ukraine since January 2025. He is known for his work on climate and environmental policy, founding the Net Zero All-Party Parliamentary Group in 2019, and for introducing the Artificial Superintelligence Bill in Parliament to prohibit the development of artificial superintelligence systems in the UK.
