Qi Shao

Qi Shao is a researcher in soft robotics who received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2025 under the supervision of Professor Huichan Zhao. He is currently a Project Researcher at the Bio-Inspired Robotics Laboratory at the University of Tokyo, working with Professor Fumiya Iida. His research focuses on soft actuators, dielectric elastomer artificial muscles, and bio-inspired robotic systems including millipede-inspired multi-legged robots and pipeline inspection robots.
