Wenzhao Lian

Wenzhao Lian is a Professor in the School of Artificial Intelligence at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where he leads the HIROL Lab focused on robotic manipulation, imitation learning, and reinforcement learning. He previously served as Director of Robot Manipulation at Figure AI, a staff research scientist at Google X (Intrinsic), and a senior researcher at Vicarious AI. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University in 2015 and is recognized for his work on sim-to-real transfer, category-level grasping, and sample-efficient imitation learning for contact-rich manipulation tasks.
