Ramana Nanda

Ramana Nanda is Professor of Entrepreneurial Finance and Associate Dean for Enterprise at Imperial College London, where he also directs the Institute for Deep Tech Entrepreneurship. His research examines financing frictions facing new ventures and how financial intermediaries, corporate R&D, and policymakers can improve the selection and commercialization of promising ideas and technologies. He is best known for his work on venture capital, entrepreneurial experimentation, and startup financing, including co-authoring the widely cited 2018 study on the cost of experimentation and the evolution of venture capital. He previously served on the Harvard Business School faculty from 2007 to 2021 and is a recipient of the 2015 Kauffman Prize Medal for distinguished research in entrepreneurship.
