Josh Gottheimer

Josh Gottheimer is a Democratic U.S. Representative for New Jersey's 5th Congressional District, serving since January 2017. He sits on the House Financial Services Committee and the House Homeland Security Committee, and co-chairs the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus. In December 2025, he was appointed a founding co-chair of the House Democratic Commission on AI and the Innovation Economy, and has sponsored multiple AI-related bills including the Unleashing AI Innovation in Financial Services Act and legislation to ban DeepSeek from federal government devices. Before entering Congress, he worked as a speechwriter in the Clinton White House, as a senior counselor at the Federal Communications Commission, and as a general manager for corporate strategy at Microsoft.
