Sarah Schwettmann

Sarah Schwettmann is a Research Scientist at MIT CSAIL and Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of Transluce, a nonprofit research lab focused on the responsible development and public oversight of AI systems. She completed her PhD in Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT as an NSF Fellow, working with Josh Tenenbaum and Antonio Torralba, and her research investigates the representations underlying intelligence in artificial and biological neural networks. She is known for her work on AI interpretability, including natural language descriptions of deep visual features and automated methods for explaining AI systems.
