Jack Welch

John Francis "Jack" Welch Jr. (1935–2020) was an American business executive who served as chairman and CEO of General Electric from 1981 to 2001. He is best known for transforming GE into one of the world's most valuable companies, implementing management practices including ranking employees and terminating the bottom 10% annually, and requiring every GE business to be first or second in its market or face divestiture. He was widely cited as one of the most influential chief executives of the twentieth century.
