Max Levchin is a Ukrainian-American software engineer and entrepreneur who currently serves as founder and CEO of Affirm Holdings, a publicly traded financial technology company offering buy-now-pay-later services. He is best known as the co-founder and former chief technology officer of PayPal, which was acquired by eBay in 2002, and for co-creating the Gausebeck-Levchin test, one of the earliest commercial CAPTCHA implementations. He was born in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1975 and holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
