Miranda Bogen

Miranda Bogen is the Chief Technologist and founding Director of the AI Governance Lab at the Center for Democracy & Technology, where she develops technically informed solutions for AI regulation and governance. She previously guided responsible AI practices at Meta and conducted foundational research on machine learning and civil rights at Upturn. She is best known for her widely cited research on discrimination in personalized advertising and the role of AI in hiring, as well as her technical contributions to measuring and mitigating bias in AI systems.
