Rama Chellappa

Rama Chellappa is a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor in the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. He is widely recognized for his pioneering research in computer vision, pattern recognition, and machine learning, with significant contributions to facial recognition technology, biometrics, and image and video processing. He previously served for 29 years on the faculty at the University of Maryland, where he chaired the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and directed the Center for Automation Research.
