Roy E. Disney

Roy E. Disney was an American businessman, filmmaker, and longtime senior executive of The Walt Disney Company, the entertainment conglomerate co-founded by his father Roy O. Disney and his uncle Walt Disney. He served as vice chairman of the company's board of directors and chairman of its animation department from 1984 to 2003, and later held the title of director emeritus and consultant until his death in 2009. He is best known for guiding Disney Animation into a new golden age with films such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King, and for leading the 2004 SaveDisney campaign that culminated in the removal of CEO Michael Eisner.
