Immad Akhund

Immad Akhund is the co-founder and CEO of Mercury, a fintech company providing banking and financial infrastructure for startups, which he founded in 2017. Born in Pakistan and raised in the United Kingdom, he studied computer science at the University of Cambridge before moving to the United States to join Y Combinator, where he later served as a part-time partner. Prior to Mercury, he co-founded Heyzap, a mobile advertising platform acquired by Fyber in 2016, and Clickpass, an OpenID identity company. He is also an active early-stage angel investor with more than 350 investments in companies including Airtable, Substack, Rippling, and Rappi, and in May 2025 he launched the Immad Akhund Fund, a solo-GP venture vehicle.
