Yonghui Wu

Yonghui Wu is an artificial intelligence researcher who currently serves as Head of Research at ByteDance Seed, the company's large language model and generative AI division. He spent approximately 17 years at Google, where he was promoted to Vice President of Research and Google Fellow in 2023, working within Google Brain and Google DeepMind on natural language processing, speech recognition, and machine translation. He is best known for his foundational contributions to sequence-to-sequence models, including Google's neural machine translation system, as well as work on speech recognition and multimodal models such as Gemini.
