Valerie Lau Beckman

Valerie Lau Beckman is a California-licensed attorney who worked as General Counsel at a venture capital firm and performed legal and corporate tasks for GameOn, a San Francisco-based AI chat technology startup later renamed The ON Platform Inc. She is best known for being charged alongside her husband, GameOn co-founder and former CEO Alexander Beckman, in a federal fraud case alleging she participated in a scheme to defraud investors of over $60 million by helping create and disseminate fake audit reports and counterfeit bank statements. In January 2025, she was charged by both the SEC and federal prosecutors with conspiracy, wire fraud, securities fraud, identity theft, and obstruction of justice.
