Shanglei Liu

Shanglei Liu, MD, MAS, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at UC San Diego Health and an affiliated professor of bioengineering at the UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering. He is a colon and rectal surgeon specializing in the treatment of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and benign anorectal conditions. His research focuses on the development of novel surgical devices and technologies, including robotic surgery and surgical exosuits, and he is best known for his work on surgeon ergonomics and surgical innovation.
