Jay Barney

Jay Barney is a Presidential Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business, affiliated with the Department of Entrepreneurship and Strategy. He is best known as one of the founding scholars of the resource-based view of the firm, particularly through his widely cited 1991 work on firm resources and sustained competitive advantage. His research focuses on how organizations build and maintain competitive advantage through unique resources, capabilities, and socially complex human processes.
