Lee Kuan Yew

Lee Kuan Yew was a Singaporean statesman and barrister who served as the first prime minister of Singapore from 1959 to 1990. He co-founded the People's Action Party in 1954 and led Singapore through its separation from Malaysia in 1965, overseeing its transformation into a highly developed economy. He continued serving in the cabinet as Senior Minister until 2004 and as Minister Mentor until 2011, remaining an influential figure in Singaporean policy until his death in March 2015 at the age of 91.
