Lane McIntosh

Lane McIntosh is a Senior Staff Machine Learning Scientist at Tesla, where he leads the team of engineers and scientists building Autopilot's foundation neural networks for the company's active safety and full self-driving products. He holds a PhD in Neurosciences and Computer Science from Stanford University, where his research focused on deep learning models of biological visual systems. Prior to Tesla, he worked at Google Brain developing recurrent neural network architectures for computer vision tasks. He is best known for his work bridging theoretical neuroscience and deep learning, with publications on retinal neural coding and object detection for autonomous driving.
