Susan Athey

Susan Athey is an American economist who currently serves as Chief Economist of the Antitrust Division at the United States Department of Justice, while on partial leave from Stanford University Graduate School of Business where she is the Economics of Technology Professor. She is best known for being the first female winner of the John Bates Clark Medal and for her extensive research in economics, technology, and marketplace design. She previously held professorships at Harvard University and MIT and served as consulting chief economist for Microsoft.
