Sun Jian was a computer scientist specializing in computer vision and deep learning. He served as Chief Scientist and Managing Director of Research at Megvii Technology (Face++) from 2016, having previously spent thirteen years at Microsoft Research Asia. He was best known for his co-authorship of the ResNet paper introducing deep residual learning, and he led the development of Megvii's Brain++ platform and ShuffleNet. He passed away in June 2021 at the age of 45.
