Curtis Yarvin

Curtis Yarvin is an American political theorist and software developer who writes under the pseudonym Mencius Moldbug. He is best known for founding the neoreactionary movement, also called the Dark Enlightenment, which argues that democracy should be replaced by a monarchy or CEO-led government. He created the Urbit decentralized computing platform and co-founded Tlon Corp to develop it, returning to the company in 2024 in a wartime CEO role. He currently writes the newsletter Gray Mirror on Substack and has become an oft-cited thinker within the new right, with his ideas influencing figures such as J.D. Vance and Peter Thiel.
