Tegan Maharaj

Tegan Maharaj is an assistant professor in the Department of Decision Sciences at HEC Montréal and a core academic member of Mila – Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute. Her research focuses on responsible AI development, AI safety and alignment, and the application of machine learning to climate change, epidemiology, and ecological problems. She is a co-founding member of Climate Change AI and has contributed to foundational work on large language model safety and trustworthy AI development.
