Dustin Tran

Dustin Tran is a machine learning researcher who currently serves as Chief Reasoning Architect at Elorian AI, a multimodal AI lab. He previously led the post-training team at xAI, where he was model captain for Grok 4.1, and before that was a Senior Staff Research Scientist at Google DeepMind, where he co-created Gemini-Exp-0801 and contributed to the Gemini model family. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Columbia University and is known for his work on post-training recipes, reinforcement learning, and model evaluations across multiple frontier AI labs.
