Chiori Hori

Chiori Hori is a Senior Principal Research Scientist at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she has worked since 2015. Her research focuses on multimodal scene-aware interaction and spoken dialog technologies for human-robot communication, integrating natural language processing, computer vision, and audio processing. She previously spent eight years at Japan's National Institute of Information and Communication Technology (NICT), where she directed the Spoken Language Communication Laboratory, and she also conducted research at Carnegie Mellon University and NTT Communication Science Laboratories. She holds a Ph.D. from the Tokyo Institute of Technology and serves on the editorial board of the journal Computer Speech and Language.
