Alex Kontorovich

Alex Kontorovich is a Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at Rutgers University, where he has served on the faculty since 2014. He works in analytic number theory, automorphic forms, harmonic analysis, and homogeneous dynamics, and is known for his research on Apollonian packings and thin orbits. He is a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society and received the Levi L. Conant Prize in 2014. He is also active in public mathematics outreach, having served as Distinguished Visiting Professor for the Public Dissemination of Mathematics at the National Museum of Mathematics and as a Scientific Board Member for Quanta Magazine.
