ROLE PHILOSOPHERMENTIONS 1LAST SEEN JULY 7, 2026
// BIO

Nick Land is an English philosopher best known for popularizing the ideology of accelerationism and co-founding the Cybernetic Culture Research Unit (CCRU) at the University of Warwick in the 1990s. He served as a lecturer in continental philosophy at Warwick from 1987 until his resignation in 1998, after which he moved to Shanghai and re-emerged as a foundational thinker in the neo-reactionary Dark Enlightenment movement. He is the author of Fanged Noumena and The Thirst for Annihilation, and coined the term hyperstition to describe ideas that bring about their own reality. He has no current formal academic affiliation, having been dismissed from the New Centre for Research & Practice in 2017.

I think one of the philosophers that's very important for the current moment is Nick Land. And I think it's because he puts his finger on in this concept of just pure acceleration — acceleration with no human end or purpose in mind.
