Oliver Sacks

Oliver Sacks was a British neurologist, physician, and author best known for his collections of neurological case histories, including The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, Awakenings, and Musicophilia. He held professorships at Columbia University and NYU School of Medicine, and wrote extensively about neurological conditions, sensory perception, and the brain. The New York Times referred to him as the poet laureate of contemporary medicine. He died in August 2015.
