Will Cathcart

Will Cathcart is a senior leader at Meta who served as the head of WhatsApp from 2019 until stepping down from the role in June 2026. He is transitioning to a new role within Meta focused on building consumer applications and products using artificial intelligence. During his nearly seven years leading WhatsApp, he oversaw the platform's growth to over three billion users worldwide and championed features including end-to-end encryption, Communities, Channels, and Meta AI integrations. He joined Meta, then Facebook, in 2010 after previously working at Google on anti-spam technologies for products including Gmail.
