Mac Schwager is an Associate Professor in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University, with a courtesy appointment in Computer Science. He directs the Multi-robot Systems Lab (MSL) and studies distributed algorithms for control, estimation, and learning in groups of autonomous aircraft, cars, and robots. He is best known for his research on multi-robot systems, including swarm coordination, cooperative manipulation, and autonomous drone racing. He received his Ph.D. from MIT in 2009 and was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania before joining Stanford in 2015.
