Walter Kortschak

Walter Kortschak is a venture capitalist and the founder and managing partner of Kortschak Investments, as well as a partner at Firestreak Ventures, his family office focused on early-stage AI and machine learning investments. He serves as a senior advisor at Summit Partners, where he spent over two decades as a managing director leading growth-stage investments, and is a chairman emeritus and founding investor of SignalFire. Over a career spanning nearly four decades, he has invested in more than 70 companies with over 60 profitable exits including 24 IPOs, with notable early and growth-stage investments in companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe, Palantir, Lyft, and Robinhood. He holds a BS from Oregon State University, an MS from Caltech, and an MBA from UCLA, and serves on the Board of Trustees at Caltech.
