Earl Hurd

Earl Hurd (1880-1940) was a pioneering American animator and film director best known for co-developing and patenting cel animation processes with J.R. Bray in 1914 and for creating the Bobby Bumps animated short series. He worked for Bray Productions, later ran his own studio, and eventually worked as a storyboard artist at the Walt Disney studio on films including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Fantasia. Animation historian Giannalberto Bendazzi called him probably the best American animator of his time after Bray.
