Margaret J. Winkler Mintz

Margaret J. Winkler Mintz (1895–1990) was a Hungarian-born American film producer and distributor who founded M.J. Winkler Productions. She began her career as a secretary to Harry Warner before establishing her own company, which produced and distributed animated short subjects including Felix the Cat and the Alice Comedies. She is best known for signing the October 16, 1923 contract with Walt and Roy Disney for distribution of the Alice Comedies, a document considered the founding document of The Walt Disney Company. She retired from the business in the mid-1920s after marrying Charles B. Mintz, who took over the company.
