Alan Greenspan

Alan Greenspan was an American economist who served as the 13th chairman of the Federal Reserve from 1987 to 2006, appointed by four presidents. He is best known for presiding over a decade-long economic expansion in the 1990s and was celebrated as an economic virtuoso, though critics later attributed some blame for the 2008 financial crisis to his policies. He died on June 22, 2026, at the age of 100 from complications of Parkinson's disease.
