Xiaolong Wang

Xiaolong Wang is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UC San Diego, where he leads research at the intersection of computer vision, machine learning, and robotics. He is also a Research Director at Meta Superintelligence Labs focusing on Embodied AI, having joined Meta through the acquisition of Assured Robot Intelligence, a humanoid robotics company he co-founded. His research focuses on representation learning through videos and physical robotic interaction data, with applications in self-supervised learning, video understanding, and robot skill acquisition. He received his Ph.D. from the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at UC Berkeley.
