(Tad) Smith, Jr. is an American businessman who currently serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of The Fine Art Group and as a director of several companies including Lindblad Expeditions. He is best known for serving as President and CEO of Sotheby's from March 2015 to October 2019, during which time he led the auction house's digital transformation and oversaw its $3.7 billion sale to Patrick Drahi. Prior to Sotheby's, he was President and CEO of the Madison Square Garden Company from February 2014 to March 2015. He also serves as an adjunct professor at New York University's Stern School of Business.
