The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is a U.S. federal regulatory agency with a dual mandate to protect consumers from fraud, deception, and unfair business practices, and to enforce antitrust laws that promote fair competition across the economy. It carries out its mission through law enforcement actions, rulemaking, litigation, and consumer and business education programs.
